A growth in the economy of about 7.12% has been experienced, from January to July, because of the Duty Free Zone in Colón and the miscellany activities that have been created.

According to the Monthly Economy Activity Rate, in the Duty Free Zone exports have grown 19.4%, with an added value of 19%, while imports grew 11.7% and the added value 11.9%.

The bets on chance games have also shown a significative growth of 23.1% in casino rooms, the net sales for the lottery draw 7% and the bets in the Racetrack 19.5%.

The income provided by the toll of the Channel has increased 20.9%, the net tons 6.6% and ships traffic 2.1%.
