A charity bingo gathered residents of all ages to help raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Center. The organizer of the event, Ann Cox, has been doing this for 9 years, after one of her neighbors was cared by nurses of the center while dying of cancer.
The amount raised was £450, and 140 people chipped in to accomplish that. The charity bingo was held on the village hall on Friday, November 10. Prizes were donated by businesses, including a top prize of a five-day caravan break by Searles Holiday and Leisure Resort.
"Everyone had a really lovely night. Last year we had 170 people attend and it was a bit too crowded, so it was even better this time. I hope to organize the event again next year," Mrs. Cox said.
"I would like to thank everyone who helped, especially Mrs. Pauline Dickson," she added.
